- Silk fabic - Clean Water
- Silk fabic - Clean Water
The first step in silk painting is to prepare the silk and softly outline the design. After doing this I then went over these lines with Gutta, which stops the paints from running. You can get all different colours within this product however I chose a silver. To show a higher level of space. The sliver I feel also stands out more, compare to a white.
Applying Colour to Silk
There was a certain method to applying the coloured silk paints. I had to constantly be aware of how much water I was adding because if I added to much the colour would run together. I feel these experiments worked well because the colour seemed to stay onto the silk better then previous medias I have used. The gutta shows the outline of the clouds in a more detailed way and overall will use this technique within my final outcome. The only thing I would improve on is making the gutta thicker and doing two coats of the paint to make the colour appear stronger.
